Toyota Issues Recall for 342K Tacomas Over Seatbelts
Toyota has issued a voluntary recall for about 342,000 Tacoma Access Cab vehicles due to screws that can come loose in the seatbelt assembly.
Only Tacoma Acces Cab models built between 2004 and 2011 are affected by this recall. Due to repeated forceful closings of the access door, screws that attach the seat belt pre-tensioner to the seat belt retractor can work themselves loose. If the screws loosen completely, the retractor and pre-tensioner can be rendered useless.
Toyota will notify affected customers by mail, and inspect and replace the parts free of charge. For more information, customers can contact 1-800-331-4331.
